Hi Guido,

See screenshot below. What do you mean by the forecast entity en what kind of info should this entity hold?

Thanks,
Rien

Hi Rien,

That field (dynamic_forecast_entity in the Tariff & Advanced step) is an optional sensor holding the forward price curve — today's and tomorrow's hourly/15-min prices — which SEM uses to schedule battery/EV charging into the cheapest hours. It reads the usual attribute shapes automatically (Nordpool raw_today/raw_tomorrow, Tibber today/tomorrow, Amber/Octopus forecasts/rates, etc.).

You can almost always leave it blank: if your dynamic price entity (Tibber/Nordpool/...) already exposes the forward curve, SEM auto-detects it. Only set it when your current-price sensor doesn't carry the forecast but a separate sensor does. Note this is the price forecast, not the solar one — that's the separate "Solar forecast source" field on the same step.
