Explaination of the schema in the power tile #522

Late but thorough answer 🙂 — the strip is the tariff planner's schedule, not a record of what the car is doing right now:

• Coloured segments = windows where SEM plans to charge, coloured by tariff level (the legend colours — cheap windows are where a "Sun + cheap hours" plan places its grid charging).
• Black/dark segments = "no planned charging" — the planner doesn't intend to draw grid power there.

The part that looked contradictory: live solar-surplus charging runs on top of the plan, opportunistically. In "Sun + cheap hours" mode the plan only commits the cheap grid windows (your ~22:00 block); whenever there's enough sun right now, the car charges from surplus regardless of the strip — that's the "Sun" half of the mode doing its job. So "strip says idle until 22:00" + "car is charging right now from solar" are both correct at the same time: the strip is the grid plan, the current charging is free sun.

(Since v1.7.3-beta.12 the strip also has an always-visible legend with the tariff colours, which should make the segments easier to read.)
