Greetings fellas, first of all, I would like to say that this library is great.
I reckon it would be good if we could have some short-term / long-term goals, or maybe a roadmap for this library to help encourage newcomers to contribute to this amazing library. I would like to contribute myself but I am not sure where to start.

Good idea. Right now we have a couple of internal projects that we are focused on - hence no new milestones in #28
I will try to sketch something. Right now, I think that pushing this PR could be a good start: #35
