Query about Standalone Version Integration with Office Suite and Remote Server Inference #73

Hello OpenWebUI team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to inquire about the current capabilities of the OpenWebUI project, specifically regarding the standalone version and its interaction with other software.

I have two main questions:

  • Integration with Office Suite: Is it possible for the standalone version of OpenWebUI to interact with software from the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook)? If so, could you provide some details or examples of how this integration could be achieved?
  • Remote Server Inference: If the standalone version is used to interact with Office Suite applications, can it leverage the inference capabilities of a remote OpenWebUI server that is referenced in the desktop version? In other words, can the standalone version act as a client to a remote OpenWebUI server for processing tasks while interacting with Office Suite applications?

The primary goal of this functionality is to enable users to utilize the advanced features of OpenWebUI within their existing workflows in Office Suite applications, with the computational power provided by a remote OpenWebUI server.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response.

Best regards,
