null NEU - The Official null Community's Student Chapter at Northeastern University

Introduction

null NEU is the official student chapter of null - The Open Security Community at Northeastern University. We are run by student volunteers and officially recognized by the Khoury College of Computer Sciences. Our community is dedicated to cybersecurity enthusiasts, offering a platform to connect with like-minded individuals and collaborate. Our mission is to spread security awareness, create a centralized knowledge base for security-related information, and promote advanced security research.

Our Commitments

Responsibilities of Each Role

President (Sooraj Sathyanarayanan)

  • Overall responsibility for the chapter and its operations.
  • Setting goals and objectives for the chapter.
  • Representing the chapter to external organizations and stakeholders.
  • Coordinating the activities of other chapter members.
  • Ensuring compliance with university policies.

Director of Learning Initiative (Devesh Chande)

  • Developing and implementing educational opportunities.
  • Organizing workshops, training sessions, and other activities.
  • Promoting and encouraging participation in educational opportunities.
  • Enhances and manages the educational content and initiatives of null NEU.

Technical Lead (Parthiv Menon)

  • Oversees the technological needs and projects of null NEU.
  • Ensures the smooth operation of technical resources, such as websites and databases.
  • Leads projects that advance the technical knowledge and skills of our members.

Finance Head (Pratik Mody)

  • Oversees all financial aspects of null NEU, including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.
  • Ensures financial transparency and compliance within the chapter.
  • Collaborates with the executive board to ensure funds are used effectively towards achieving our mission.

Outreach Director (Salman Wajid)

  • Develops and maintains relationships with external organizations, alumni, and the cybersecurity community.
  • Coordinates outreach activities and collaborative events.
  • Promotes null NEU's mission and initiatives to a broader audience, expanding our community impact.

Events Manager (Sourabh Pawar)

  • Plans, organizes, and executes null NEU events, ensuring they align with our mission and goals.
  • Coordinates logistics, manages event schedules, and oversees event operations.
  • Engages members and attendees, ensuring a rewarding and informative experience.

Marketing Head (Swadeep Chalwade)

  • Develops and executes marketing strategies to enhance the visibility and reach of null NEU.
  • Manages social media platforms and creates content that aligns with our mission and values.
  • Engages with the community and stakeholders to promote null NEU events and initiatives.

Volunteer Role

Volunteers can participate in various activities and initiatives, including organizing events, contributing to open-source projects, sharing knowledge, and helping with administrative tasks.
