[Announcement] Manifest Version 3 Transition in Microsoft Edge #713

Microsoft Edge is beginning the transition from Manifest Version 2 (MV2) to Manifest Version 3 (MV3). With 95% of the top MV2 extensions already supporting or available on MV3, the ecosystem is well positioned for this next step toward improved security, privacy, and performance. The consumer transition is expected to begin in August 2026 and complete by the end of 2026, with enterprise deprecation following in early 2027.
