Trying to get it working #330

Hello,

this piece of software sounds great in theory but I am having some troubles setting it up. Is it still even working ?

I am on mac using firefox.

macOS: 15.7.5 (24G624) on Intel
Firefox: 149.0.2 (64-bit)

I installed bridge and firefox extension.

Should i be running bridge in daemon mode and have extension connect via backup daemon connection on localhost?

Clicking Cast button opens up a small window with devices and a selector for either cast Screen or tab. Should both work?
Sometimes it finds my devices, sometimes not. I tried restarting firefox and daemon, make sure I'm on the same wifi and it still won't find it. Why not ?
Sometimes the selector shows both options sometimes just "Screen". Is it a permission issue on mac?

Clicking CAST then for one device does not work. It shows loading dots as if it's connecting but I have not yet seen it actually connect and play. One time i've seen it offer me to select which window to cast. "Share this window" in mac, same as when you try to share screen via Google Meet or other video conferencing apps. But the casting still didn't succeed.

I have tried many different sites, youtube for instance. I have disabled whitelisting.

Daemon doesn't have many CLI options beyond hostname and port and some security settings.

Is there anything else I can try to improve the probability of success ?
Thanks
