Do I need logic backup mysql data using mysqldump while I have master-slave mysql cluster. #1579

Hi,
I have a new job for maintain mysql servers as a DBA. I have a question that If I need mysqldump to backup data, when I maintain a master-slave cluster. Because slave node also keep data, when master node is down. Thanks for any reponse.
