Release cadence #993

I'm in the unfortunate situation of having to (or trying to) maintain a fork of safe-settings mostly due to not knowing the release cadance of versions. I'm seeing #812 and thinking this is somewhat connected. But just giving a rough guesstimate on when/how a release is cut would be immensely helpful.
