How can the interaction between Podman and bootc's logically bound images be improved? #1527

This quarter I will be working on a spike testing and documenting how Podman is used for bootc's logically bound images. Any improvements I highlight will be taken into consideration in future development cycles of Podman.

I would like to reach out to the users of Bootc logically bound images and the Bootc maintainers to see if they already have any areas of improvement noted down.

Thank you!

At a technical level I think there's a lot of better bridges we need to build as part of #20 - especially rich/sophisticated bindings between container-libs and Rust clients at least. There's a ton of issues linked from there.

The user side is totally different, I am not aware of any major outstanding issues apart from what's listed in https://github.com/bootc-dev/bootc/issues?q=is%3Aissue%20state%3Aopen%20label%3Aarea%2Flogically-bound-images

Of those, #1166 is probably the biggest gap, but it's not directly on the podman/container-libs side.
