What's the provenance of Blaze? #196

Hi! I've been excited for tech like Blaze for a while and think it's implemented really nicely. I'm wondering what the provenance behind the project is if you're comfortable talking about it? Are you working for a company that's investing in this space, is this a personal thing, are you researchers? Is there intent for stuff like this to be contributed to Spark? Is there any way to follow along beyond looking at the commit log? Aware you might not be comfortable answering questions like this and no worries if not but it's certainly something I'd find interesting.

@yjshen, it looks like Blaze has gotten quiet in the last year. Wondering what your plans are.

@j-baker @rshkv ,I apologize for the delayed response. Thank you for your interest in Blaze .

@j-baker , to answer your question, the Blaze project was originally developed by the data architecture team at Kuaishou, a technology company based in China.

@rshkv , we are currently working on a major version update. Additionally, we are committed to maintaining a active community and will continue to engage with our users through various channels, including GitHub, mailing lists.
