Fick Law in Ansys - chloride ingress #1009

Hey everyone,

Could someone help me with a simple simulation example?

I need to model a 2D square surface (width ×ばつ height) with circular inclusions (mesh isn’t an issue). The goal is to simulate chloride ingress into this surface over a 100-year time history, using Fick’s second law for diffusion.

I’ve searched online but couldn’t find a clear example. Does anyone have a minimal working example in APDL (ANSYS Mechanical) or PyAnsys for this case? Even a basic script would be incredibly helpful!

Thanks in advance!

Hi @wmpjrufg! Thanks for reaching out. Forwarding this request to some of our library developers:

PyMAPDL: @germa89
PyMechanical: @dipinknair @koubaa

Not sure if we have similar examples on our codebase.

Thank you @RobPasMue for pinging me.

Querying the verification manual guide I found out the following VMs that seems to use diffusion.

It might be a good starting point if you are considering PyMAPDL as part of your workflow.
