It would be nice to have some settings that allows us to have different grid height(default is arround 5 or 7 mm) to maximize the height space used and keept the grid under the bins. I created a PR and I started using that for my own drawars, no issues so far. The only thing that I did not test is the magnet one if is mode than 3mm height.

Sorry about closing the PR without a note. It went stale on my end and I cleared it out without saying why, which wasn't fair to you after that much work.
On the feature itself: I'm going to pass on this version. I keep the base and the plate on the Gridfinity spec so that any bin fits any plate. A 2 or 3mm plate can't hold a standard bin, and I don't want to split things into two kinds of plates.
That said, if you can find a way to get more usable height that keeps standard bins fitting standard plates, I'd be happy to look at it. Thanks for the idea and the effort either way.

No worries.
I understand what you mean.
Because of that I wanted to keep the grid and bin shape the same as the original one.
What I did is to remove from the bottom of the grid x amount and then remove from the bottom of the bin grid the same ammout. That way the grid functionality remains. Already tested for me and seems fine.
If you like it too and everything seems ok from the grid and bin fitting standard I hope you will add it to the project.
