Question #6779

What's the most needed contribution right now?

I'm looking to contribute to Hive and want to understand what the community needs most. I've been working on the LLM provider mapping issue (#6595) and have experience with Windows testing.

Before jumping into another large feature, I'd like to get a sense of what would be most valuable to the project right now.

Options I'm considering:

  1. Windows compatibility fixes - I'm on Windows, so I can test and fix path issues
  2. Better error messages - Make credential and API errors clearer for users
  3. Documentation improvements - Add Windows setup guides, document the provider fix
  4. More LLM provider tests - Ensure Gemini, Claude, etc. work correctly
  5. Quickstart UX improvements - Better error handling during setup
  6. Something else - Let me know!

What I'm not looking to do:

  • Massive architectural changes without prior discussion
  • Features not on the roadmap
  • Anything that would require significant back-and-forth without clear direction

If there are any open issues that are considered high priority, or if there's a specific area where help is needed, I'd be happy to take a look.

Thanks!
