We currently have as an API, the idea for;

• /file/
• /dir/

but we should also support symlinks, under

• /symlink/

/file/ should act transparently on GET and just return the linked file, and overwrite the symlink on PUT

/dir/ should be ready to represent these, and return them in the api under a type
