upgrade from Classic Shell to Open Shell - what is the best procedure to do it? #796

Hi, I have just now discovered that some brave folks have forked the old "Classic Shell" to a new Github project named "Open Shell". Very well done! I cannot use Windows without this jewel, and I was very sad to see it abandoned.

(Note: I have searched the Open Shell forum for my question, none similar found. If there's an answer already, I was not able to find it, please point me to it directly).
I have some question about the better procedure for installing Open Shell while coming from the Classic Shell:
1a) Have I to uninstall Classic Shell before to install Open Shell?
1b) If I have previously saved an options and settings file from Classic Shell, should / may I try to load those options right in Open Shell (whenever options compatible)?
2) Or, please surprise me, should I instead left the Classic Shell installed as it is, then launch the Open Shell installer, and the wonderfully mighty Open Shell installer will be able to recognize the previous program, and "automagically" will be able to take back on it while preserving all the previous options and settings, uninstalling the old and installing the new? (Nah, don't tell that to me, I'm not yet prepared to believe it ^_^)
3) some other hybrid ways among 1 and 2 ?
(I'm currently on W8.1, programming to move to W10)
Any useful reply is welcome, I am new user for this project (but old geek) and I'm still looking at the forums just to learn how to do from the beginning!
I think my question could be useful also to any other users that are still having the old piece installed.
Thanks for any reply!

Ok, I'm still exploring and I have found another Open Shell forum on GitQ.
There it seems to have some response to my question:

Yes I backed up my Classic Shell to xml and then uninstalled with windows programs and features rebooted then after installing Classic Start, restored that xml in classic Start>>

So the correct responses seems to be:
1b) ok, can read same settings Xml file produced from Classic Shell, and
1a) yes, you should uninstall Classic shell before to install.

So at the moment, in absence of other infos, the correct jump procedure from Classic to Open seems to be:
a) from classic shell, use the setting menu to backup your settings in an xml file.
b) completely uninstall classic shell. A reboot may be necessary, or useful? Should check.
c) install the Open Shell with the installer
d) from Open Shell Settings, load the Xml previously saved from Classic shell, and it should be able to read all the settings back again.

Please report here any new related info. Thanks to anyone able to bring more details.
