Nudgarr Wiki

Because RSS sometimes needs a nudge.

Nudgarr keeps your Radarr and Sonarr libraries improving automatically — scheduling searches for missing content and quality upgrades so you don't have to.

What is Nudgarr?

Nudgarr is a self-hosted Docker application that sits alongside your existing Radarr and Sonarr instances and periodically triggers searches on your behalf. It handles two distinct jobs:

  • Cutoff Unmet — finds items in Radarr/Sonarr's Wanted → Cutoff Unmet queue and triggers a search for a better quality version
  • Backlog Nudges — searches missing movies and episodes that have never been grabbed, with configurable age filtering and per-app caps

Nudgarr respects your indexers. Searches are rate-limited by configurable cooldowns, batch sizes, sleep timers, and jitter. Items already downloading are silently skipped so they never consume a search slot.

Using Nudgarr on Mobile

Nudgarr has a purpose-built mobile layout that activates automatically on devices under 500px wide. Portrait and landscape are two separate UIs — rotating your device changes what is available to you.

Portrait

Portrait mode has four tabs in the bottom nav:

Tab What it covers
Home Run Now, schedule toggle, instance health, stats
Sweep Per-instance sweep cards with library and run stats
History Search history and Exclusions inner tab
Settings Cooldown, Cutoff Max, Sample Mode, Auto-Exclusion thresholds, Notifications toggles, Per-Instance Overrides toggle

Landscape

Rotating to landscape replaces the portrait UI entirely with a different set of tabs:

Tab What it covers
Backlog Per-instance backlog toggles and missing search controls
Execution Batch size, sleep, jitter, cron schedule
Overrides Per-instance override configuration (requires Per-Instance Overrides enabled)
Filters Tag and quality profile filter configuration per instance

What requires desktop

Some features are only accessible from the full desktop UI (500px wide or wider):

  • Instances tab — adding, editing, and removing instances
  • Notifications tab — Apprise URL configuration
  • Advanced tab — Danger Zone, diagnostics, log level, state retention, import check interval
  • Filters tab — desktop version with full card layout

For initial setup and advanced configuration, use a desktop browser. Day-to-day use and monitoring work fully from mobile.
