Context: This is a more actively maintained fork of Open-XML-Powertools. From my perusal, they haven't changed much about the actual WmlCompare module, but they have upgraded a lot of the underlying dependencies including OpenXML. This is nice, because that stale parsing library is quite brittle and often leads to hard crashes on documents with minor format issues. Here is the relevant clippit PR where this was updated.

Anyways, I'm flagging the existence of Clippit because I think it will lead to better reliability and robustness than the old unmaintained Open-XML-Powertools which runs an extremely dated OpenXML version.
