The icon was redesigned to fit within the style of the other Devolutions logos
I understand the old icon looked nice, but with time, you'll get used to the new one. It's nice too, but a new icon always feels odd at first.

I liked how the previous taskbar icon matched the standard Windows 11 style. I kept it on the bar permanently because it blended in so well that it felt like an integral part of the system. This is a downgrade

For the tray icon specifically, we could probably add an option to use the old icon

or least a plain white icon. Every tray bar icon in a different color results in visual clutter. E.g. OpenVPN offers the option for a monochromatic or colorful icon.

Please add an option to use the legacy tray icon. The previous design felt better integrated with Windows 11 and provided much clearer visibility regarding update status.

Just to break the cycle of hate about the new icon, you actually listened and included the legacy tray icon in the new version. To be honest, I didn't think this was going to happen, but you did it. Maybe you guys aren't that bad after all.

Agreed. I don't think the logo looks bad, but the system tray icon is now difficult to tell what indicator if any is being shown. I also consider this a downgrade. I don't care if the new logo is present somewhere in the program window, but it's just not very functional in the system tray.

Agreed too. Just make it Windows tray standard (white or black, depending from system theme.

Perhaps a toggle would be nice?

Fyi, you can create a custom shortcut in your Startup folder to change it back to the original.

That doesn't fix the tray issue, or the logo IN the app...

There are technical difficulties with providing a configurable option for the main application icon - but we can do this for the tray icon, it's already coming up in the next release. We have also tweaked the new icon to remove the white border, it should look better now. As for the project name, we're sticking to UniGetUI, it is not our intention to change it. We are also working behind the scenes to recover the unigetui•com domain name to point it to the official website instead of a fake one.

Thank you for bringing back the monochrome icon. Cheers!

The new UnigetUI owners clearly don't care or don't understand the Windows 11 UI language, it's slowly becoming another tasteless, corporate 3rd party app.

Yes! They did.
Added a new option in User Interface Preferences to switch between the new, monochrome, and legacy tray icon styles.
