Showing the name of the program being updated on the #4409

It could be helpful if on this notification not only the authors name of unigetUI is visible but also the program that gets updated through auto-update.

i have to cancel it, open unigetUI quickly as possible and see available updates.

auto-update is set up every 4 hours (a good value for me, way better than 10 min). what do these numbers behind gsudoelevate mean?

Those are session IDs used to communicate between the elevator layer. I am afraid what you are requesting is not possible, due to how UAC works.

is there a way to skip this step? i have an office with lenovo-PCs delivered with windows 8 and upgraded to windows 10 in year 2016. their admin rights privilegues behave weird, i have to close unigetUI right after an unigetUI-Update process, otherwiese unigetui won't get updated. on these PCs this prompt will be skipped and the programs will get updated anyway. not really, unless you install packages that don't require admin rights

what could be a reason for the update process on the lenovo-PCs

to be honest, I have no clue

i think it's the same on my windows server 2022 which i also mentioned quite often. there must have been an admin-only mode enabled. it's clearly visible on unigetUI (windows server 2022, fresh install from official .iso file with ventoy from official microsoft servers, no changes on purpose, not even a single bit).
.......
yup absolutely correct.

i just turned on the server, opened unigetUI from tray icon and immediately two updates are being installed.

image and on the upper left corner you can see in capital letters: "UniGetUl ALS ADMINISTRATOR AUSGEFÜHRT".

on the lenovo-PCs must be some admin rights privilege chaos.

however sooner or later we have to buy PCs which are compatible to and capable of windows 11.

and after a very long time, temurin.8 JRE got updated too (felt like decades of waiting until mods of winget-pkgs fully approve the package microsoft/winget-pkgs#338878), fully automatically, without prompt notification asking the user for an agreement

this reminds me, why i have to put thunderbird x64 exe in interactive installation-mode. it will get newly installed in C:\ on windows server 2022 while i urgently need thunderbird in a different drive/partition.

mildly interesting. i don't know how krzysztof kowalczyk managed this.

So, are you saying that it's not possible for the popup to tell me what software it wants to update? I'm blindly saying OK, but I really don't like doing that.

an update is like a cigarette and it cannot be that bad.

but it's interesting that if this notification appears and i click on no, it will appear again. it's interesting because in unigetUI there is only one update like Chrome Remote Desktop Host.

I clicked on "no" and the UAC notification reappeared. a second click on no will hide it completely.

i found out that this notification is called Windows UAC (User Access Control?) and can be disabled! i will work on it one day and inform here. as i said i have 4 lenovo PC's and after every normal restart the admin rights are messed up so hard, unigetUI can update any program without showing an UAC notification and without asking for admin right privileges.

still everybody can disable auto-update and simply open unigetUI when it informs the user, that updates are available.

i use auto-update because i want to get over with it. updates come daily and in masses. it's a nightmare but understandable.

i found out that chocolatey is removed, why? i don't use it but it's more famous and flexible than winget. winget is only better because it comes predelivered.

The bundled choco CLI was removed at the request of Chocolatey themselves - install it the regular way, and UniGetUI should detect it
