is there any alternatives to avoid Cannot load AWT toolkit error?

observing gcj document, i could observe that 
gnu.gcj.runtime.VMClassLoader.library_control is deprecated. but it 
maybe needed when finding classes. otherwise it has no way to find GTK 
awt toolkit shared libraries. at least current trunk reprository... it 
is invoking java.awt.AWTError when GTK AWT toolkit is shared library.
or is there a way to merge awt toolkit with libgcj?
