Yeah, I looked again, and there's no really deep reason. It
implements Iterator<String>, but that's pretty minor.
I've attached my work-in-progress. It compiles but doesn't do
anything useful. I'm not even sure it is a very useful starting
point, etc. I'd be delighted if someone finished this; I haven't had
time to work on it since I started it several months ago.
