Ehemm, now I'm getting severely confused.
I have now reverted my libgcj and gcc back to 3.4.0 - compiled back in 
2004, way before the libffi patch PR23404 entered the scene.
And the output from the testsuite in PR23404 is still correct!
Am I totally off here?
I know PR23404 may or may not have anything to do with my original 
problem, but it's the only guide I have right now...
