Hello list
Following this tutorial http://rmathew.com/articles/gcj/bldgcj.html, I'm
trying to compile gcj on linux for windows.
1. The first step is to compile gcc so that it runs on linux and
compiles for windows.
2. The second step is to use the compiler from step one to compile gcc
again, so that it will run on windows and compile for windows.
I'm stuck at the end of step2 (already having gcj.exe and so on). But
there where other problems on the way there, that might be the source
for my insuperable problem. So I'll mention them too:
Step 1:
When I compile a c program with a printf, I can run it on windows/wine
and it works.
Compiling a java programm with a System.out.println() works. But it
doesn't do anything when starting it on windows (the console just keeps
empty). Any ideas?
But because gcc itself worked, I hoped that gcj would work after
compiling gcc/gcj so that it runs on windows.
Unfortunaly I get some compiling errors for the second step:
- configure: cannot find javac, try --with-gcj, --with-jikes,
--with-kjc, or --with-gcjx
using "--with-gcjx", it works. I don't know what this option means, so
this might be the source of the main problem:
- No rule to make target
`classpath/lib/gnu/awt/LightweightRedirector.class', needed by
`gnu/awt/LightweightRedirector.h'
Here I'm stuck... How can I fix this?
Any help would really be appreciated... I'm now trying to get the
gcc-4.1.1 compiled for over a week and begin to be a little desperated...
regards
Marco
