removing or using AWT/Swing

I don't know about this stuff any more, but there are plenty of AWT
experts on the Classpath list. We've already got 3 peers (in various
states of completion), so surely someone will know the answer, at
least in an abstract way. I'd say, feel free to ask questions there
or on the #classpath irc channel.
