Just for reference. Jalapeno was renamed JikesRVM when it was released
as Free Software. Based on GNU Classpath of course :)
Since it is used so much in research institutions and universities it
has an impressive list of research papers based on it and since it is
Free Software the code to back up some of these papers/algorithms is
actually available as part of JikesRVM:
