trying to compile looks (jgoodies)

Hmm. I tried to run it with gij and it produced 

gij -jar JabRef-1.8b2.jar 
** ERROR **: 
file ../../../src/libjava/jni/gtk-peer/gnu_java_awt_peer_gtk_GtkImage.c: 
line 572 (createRawData): assertion failed: (data_fid != 0) 
aborting... 

There are some classes in jabref that are not in the gnu-classpath yet, 
but I rewrote them and added them to the compile classpath. I was hoping 
that this would work. The errors I get are not related to these missing 
classes.
