jcp and gcj

hi all,
hope you are doing well.
I've a question: Is a jcp membership compatible with fsf/gcj?
I mean are there any problems involved in joining jcp in your opinion?
I know that Per Bothner is a member - so it should't be a problem.
The reason why I'm asking is that I'm very interested in the java module
stuff (JSR-277). Back in 2003/4 I've started a project called
modjava[1], where I wanted to implement the ModJava paper by IBM, but
found some quirks and I was disappointed in doing a module system on top
of the existing class loader system. It is hard to tune if you have to
do everything in standard java and want to be compatible with jar.
(without vm related classes). Also I haven't had much response in the
community so I haven't worked on that since then.
Now gcj has this nice shared object relationship, and I hope that the
emerging module system will not be as heavy as for instance the OSGi
framework or avalon based module systems I know. I've also big concerns,
that a simple versioned module system will have a negative impact on the
java binary compatibility. In such a system you would rely too much on
version numbers. To raise my voice, I probably have to be a JCP member.
So I wanted to ask, just in case.
Is anybody interesting in that too?
thanks
