Jalopy + gcc + Win2K?

Dear all,
A client has the following problem: they use Jalopy to format their code, and
this happens as a batch job step on Win2K every time someone checks code in
via ClearCase. They would like to be able to run Jalopy as a native
application in order to avoid the overhead of JVM startup &c.
Gcj can do this, right? From what I've seen on the Classpath list there's now
a GNU version of Jalopy, which gcj must surely be able to compile ...
The client is a heavy user of Sun Java, so it would be neat to have some FOSS
Java being used, even if it's only on the periphery ... could be the thin end
of the wedge. :) But then it's important that their first contact with gcj
isn't a flop, hence the question ...
Best wishes,
Chris
