javax.audio

Hi,
There was a short thread on the classpath list
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/classpath/2003-09/msg00139.html about
using Tritonus as the Javasound implementation for Classpath.
What happenned to this idea?
I ran a quick test: I compiled the (java) library distributed with Kaffe
with gcj and ran JOrbisPlayer with it (linked with the native libraries
distributed with Kaffe too), it worked OK.
I tried to compile the latest CVS of Tritonus, the configure script
requires Java 5. Not best for us that.
The build process looks dodgy anyway, but the implementation seems
conforming to javax.sound, it looks like it works only with Linux (Alsa)
or any platform supported by esd.
Could it not be merged into gcj? As it is now merged with Kaffe?
Regards,
