I discovered this after upgrading a linux install, btw. Could it be

Here is how i run the test :
/usr/local/bin/gcj -v
Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3/specs
Reading specs from 
/usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3/../../../libgcj.spec
rename spec lib to liborig
Configured with: ../gcc-3.3/configure --enable-shared 
--enable-threads=posix --enable-java-gc=boehm

/usr/local/bin/gcj --main=TestStringConversion TestStringConversion.class
