Invoke shared gcj binary from JVM?

Thank you to you and Scott for the comments. I wasn't aware of the Linux
JET version. Unfortunately our target platforms are Windows and OSX, so
it's not useful to us at this point. The SwingWT project looks promising;
I'll keep my eye on it.
