When you want a special revision look at this page:
http://gcc.gnu.org/cvs.html under Release and snapshot branches
For the gcj you want, you should do this:
cvs -z9 -d :pserver:anoncvs@gcc.gnu.org:/cvs/gcc co -rgcc-3_3-branch gcc
