Hello Jeff and GCJ:
We were doing something "stupid". We inadvertently were running an
applet under our browser that was compiled in our "old" Java compilation
environment. Unfortunately this is a different build that refers to
some classes that are not AOT-compiled in the new build.
In this case, GCJ works perfectly, and its users (us) need to be
spanked. Sorry!
Finally, we cannot even to begin to tell you how impressed we are with
gcj/libgcj. We now have our VXML browser running on both x86linux gcj
(via off-the-shelf RPMs for gcj/gij/libgcj) as well as our own build for
arm-wince-pe. The performance is great, and everything (after some
libgcj debugging) is working just as we'd hoped. Truly wonderful!!
