It's just weird, that's all. Unless you have a nonstandard `as', I'd
expect to find it in the main bin directory. I'd also expect the
gcc-x.x dirs to contain the installed gcc bin tree. The reason for
this is so that when you reinstall gcc you can blow away the whole
gcc-bin directory first, so that there's no cruft left behind. But of
course everyone is free to install things anywhere they wish.
