Ok. Making it wholy incompatible wouldn't be such a good move at this point in time.
The question remains, however, how far to go in running after the JDK? I just feel
that it has really gone far enough now. I hope that the GCJ team takes into
consideration that performance, executable size, and keeping the thing simple, are
issues as well. If running after the JDK means sacrificing any of those, could one
carefully reconsider prior to committing to that?
By the way, in my opinion, the JDK will sooner or later fall on its face. There are
too many important areas where it doesn't hold its beer.

Yes.
We should not compromise on its un*x origins though. Let GCJ definitely be involved
in creating attractive GUIs for Windows. That's the only win32 strength anyway.
