I've just tried with Alpha/ECOFF gas, which rejected .subsection. Further
checking revealed that the .subsection pseudo-op is ELF-only (only defined
in obj-elf.c), but the concept is implemented for every object file format,
just using (e.g.) the `.text 2' (or similar) syntax. Anyway, this is moot
since boehm-gc must support non-gas assemblers as well.
