6.5.5f (I've just changed the OS to 6.5.17m, the most recent one I have 
on CD. I'm investigating the supposed free maintenance updates for 
online-developers from SGI...) I'll see if the OS change makes a difference.
Do you have the branch-name of the one that works for you ? I was using 
the 3.3 release tar file on the website, not a CVS tree.
