My history with this feature has been that it has been a pain. And,
since my own interest is fairly Linux- (and to a lesser extent Unix-)
centric, I find I'm more interested in solving problems where libgcj
is a shared library distributed as part of the OS.
Still, we've previously made changes in libgcj to help static linking
(I may even have done so; I forget). I'm sure we can agree on some
solution to whatever problems remain. I'm not that worried about it.
Reading up on otables and answering your questions is on my to-do
list; this feature is important. I can't say when I can get to it
though, as I'm rather busy at the moment with 3.3 stuff and work.
