Ahead of time compiler solutions

The fact is, we'll probably never get certification. Despite
occasional press releases to the contrary, Sun keeps a tight grip on
the JCK.

On gcj hacking? The compiler itself is in gcc/java/. Tree
documentation is scattered and sparse; there is some in Texinfo (I
think), but not for gcj itself. There is some in tree.def,
java-tree.def, and tree.h.
My experience is that reading this only helps to a certain point.
Then you have to make your change and figure out why it crashed the
compiler. Sometimes reading randomly through the source code helps.
