classpath/bootclasspath question

This issue recently came up with the Classpath project as well, hence
the patch mentioned in
http://mail.gnu.org/pipermail/classpath/2002-March/002099.html to
override environment variables when compiling with Jikes by explicitly
mentioning all possible -classpath variants on the command-line.
