gcj can't find some method in java.io

Hello.
 I use gcc3.1 compile java program it was error that Can't find method 
`createNewFile()' in type `java.io.File'. But I can call other method in java.io.File
(delete,exit).I can't debug . Could tell me about it ? what shall we do?
