java.util.Date.toString() really slow?

I didn't remember if I had mentioned it or not. I haven't been nearly
diligent enough in using GNATS :(

Whoever fixes it might consider adding relevant testcases to Mauve if
they aren't already there. Unfortunately that's going to take more time
than I'm likely to have soon.
