I'd like to have libgcj's Makefile to build things an entire package (or 
more) at a time. This would greatly speed up the build and open the door 
for more optimizations in addition to side-stepping the command line 
length issue. The only disadvantage is possibly longer incremental 
rebuild times.
There is at least one PR to fix before we can do this though.
