Well, I have built the current CVS in the past 24 hours on both x86 and 
PowerPC Linux, and its working fine for me. Occasionally the tree does 
have problems (usually not caused by Java developers!), and when it does 
you can usually use "cvs update -D" to roll back 24 or 48 hours to get 
one that builds.
