PR 1159/1412

I began to look at 1159 and 1412. Neither is reproducible anymore. I
don't remember any change in gcj that would affect it, and so I compared
the RTL from a December compiler that breaks to the current branch, they
are essentially identical. Apparently something was patched on the
backend that solved this problem.
I'd say these can be closed. Are there any other reasons we should not
start building with -O2 by default, at least on the mainline?
