<OFF TOPIC>Sorry to post this question here, but I know no better forum
or people that are actually IN THE KNOW enough to answer. Reply to me
personally if you feel it is not fit for the 'list.
Considering that AWT and Swing are so slow, why doesn't Sun switch to
using a cross-platform toolkit like GTK (They could package it with their
JVM to make sure people have it). Am I missing some technical detail
that would not allow this? It seems to me that Java is really fast on
the server end, but slow on graphics, so why not use a more 'native'
interface for graphics? Would switching to GTK make graphics faster for
Java??
