Lately I've started trying to work on patches independently. When I
want to switch patches, I use a few scripts to save the current one,
back it out, and then apply the one I want to work on again. It's a
pain, but it works ok for me. Another thing that sometimes works ok
is to edit the patch itself, removing hunks and entire diffs which
aren't relevant.
