CVS read access broken???

Well I tried both:
cvs -d :pserver:anoncvs@gcc.gnu.org:/cvs/gcc -z 9 update -Ad
and
cvs -d :pserver:anoncvs@gcc.gnu.org:/cvs/gcc -z 9 co gcc
and I got nothing.
