If (a) your test case runs and (b) a "make check" in boehm-gc succeeds,
that's a good start.

You'll probably have to add AC_DEFINE(GC_OSF1_THREADS) to
boehm-gc/configure.in (and rerun autoconf), at least. See how
e.g. GC_IRIX_THREADS is handled, for instance.
